The Challenge

As environmental reporting expectations continue to evolve, SX Engineering identified the need to develop a clearer understanding of its carbon footprint, sustainability risks, and future environmental responsibilities.

The organisation wanted to establish:

The Programme Approach

CG Business Consulting facilitated a structured, training-led sustainability programme designed to support both environmental improvement and internal capability development.

Establishing the Emissions Baseline 

A key element of the programme involved the development of a true and fair greenhouse gas emissions inventory for 2025, aligned with recognised GHG Protocol methodologies.

Through facilitated workshops and collaborative data analysis sessions, SX Engineering’s team developed a stronger understanding of:

• Scope 1 emissions,
• Scope 2 emissions,
• relevant Scope 3 emissions,
• emissions reporting principles,
• and environmental performance measurement processes.

The programme also helped establish internal systems and processes for future emissions monitoring, reporting, and continuous environmental improvement.

The resulting emissions inventory provided SX Engineering with a credible baseline against which future environmental progress can be measured and reviewed.

Developing the Net Zero Pathway 

Building on the emissions baseline work, the programme supported SX Engineering in developing a practical Net Zero Pathway covering the period from 2025 to 2050.

Through collaborative sustainability action-planning sessions, the organisation identified opportunities to improve environmental performance across areas including:

• energy efficiency,
• operational practices,
• resource management,
• supply chain engagement,
• sustainability governance,
• and long-term carbon reduction planning.

The process focused on ensuring that environmental objectives were realistic, measurable, and capable of being integrated into ongoing business operations.

Importantly, the programme helped establish greater internal ownership of sustainability objectives and strengthened organisational awareness of environmental responsibilities and continuous improvement opportunities.
