Crosserlough Constructions Quote has always been "Quality through Experience". Implementing ISO 45001 is a further investment in our company's most important asset—our people—and an expansion of our knowledge in an ever-growing industry. We are ensuring that occupational health and safety are of the utmost importance for the safe and effective running of our company in the future. We will not only ensure compliance with all 45001 regulations but also a workplace culture where employees feel valued and protected. Project Objectives

Key Challenges

Engaging employees in the OH&S management system is crucial for its success.

However, achieving full cooperation from all employees, including frontline workers and management, will require effective communication and training programs.

Construction projects often involve multiple contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers, each with their own health and safety practices. Ensuring that all parties adhere to the requirements of ISO 45001 is not just a challenge but a shared responsibility that underscores the importance of effective communication and collaboration throughout the supply chain.

Maintaining accurate records and documentation to show our compliance with ISO 45001 requirements can be time-consuming and labour-intensive, particularly in a fast-paced industry like construction, where paperwork may not be a priority.

ISO 45001 requires us to continually monitor and improve our OH&S performance. Identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions in a timely manner can be challenging, especially in the construction industry, where conditions and risks may change rapidly.

Actions Taken

We established and monitored a quality system for compliance with relevant OH&S regulations and ISO 45001 requirements. This involved regular inspections, audits, and reviews of safety procedures and practices.
We provided comprehensive training programs to ensure all employees, including supervisors and management, know their OH&S responsibilities and have the necessary skills to work safely. We will encourage active participation and feedback from employees to work on improving all safety practices.
We implemented processes to ensure that all contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers adhere to the requirements of ISO 45001 and maintain high standards of safety on all construction sites.
This included OH&S clauses in contracts, conducting supplier assessments, and providing guidance and support to subcontractors.
We implemented efficient systems for documenting and maintaining records related to OH&S management, including incident reports, risk assessments, training records, and corrective actions.
We used all digital tools and technologies to streamline record-keeping processes and ensure easy access to information when needed for all employees.

Results

By taking these actions, Crosserlough Construction effectively addressed the challenges of implementing ISO 45001 and created a safer work environment for all employees involved in construction projects.
